Institutional Repository of Campus Vascular Flora & Spatial Microclimate Stratification

Campus Ecological Mission

SMVDU Green Atlas serves as the official digital herbarium, vegetation GIS atlas, and spatial taxonomic directory for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakryal (Katra, J&K). Situated in the dynamic bio-geographical ecotone of the Trikuta foothills at elevations between 780m and 880m above sea level, the university campus supports a unique mosaic of Shiwalik chir pine forest, xerophytic scrublands, broadleaf ravines, and planted academic avenues.

The platform bridges physical field taxonomy and spatial GIS telemetry through standardized physical QR tree plaques mounted on campus specimens. Researchers, students, and visitors can access scientific binomials, verified authority citations, Dogri vernacular ethnobotany, phenological flowering schedules, and clinical toxicity indices directly in the field.

Vascular Taxonomy

Standardized botanical ledger cataloging local indigenous, naturalized, and cultivated woody perennials and herbs.

Spatial GIS Stratification

Georeferenced boundary zoning and microclimate analysis dividing campus grounds into four distinct ecological sectors.

Clinical Safety Triage

Emergency toxicity risk indexing, dermatitis hazard classification, and direct triage protocols linked with the SMVDU Medical Centre.
